In 2005 a new business entity, Burlington Manufacturing Services, was formed as an outgrowth of Burlington Industries, which was emerging from bankruptcy.  In April of 2007 three former BI executives Robert Sills. Jim Joyner and Marvin Gaines purchased the business which included a loyal workforce of over 100 employees.  The historic Pioneer Plant, which had opened in 1923 as the founding operation for Burlington Mills, serves as the headquarters and manufacturing facility for Burlington Manufacturing Services.  In February of 2009 a decision was made to purchase the Williamsburg Plant, which is located in the Matkins community of Caswell County, in order to strengthen the business capability of BMS and to continue to fulfill the company’s mission of saving textile jobs.  These two operations had traditionally performed very satisfactorily together when owned by Burlington Industries and the renewed vertical integration has proven to be a successful endeavor.  The Williamsburg upholstery fabric group has selected the name, Se7en, to represent the newly formed business unit.

Burlington Manufacturing Services and Se7en represent the core businesses operating under the new corporate name of Burlington Technologies.   The new corporation intends to remain in the textile marketplace, providing proven service and quality products, but will also be seeking to diversify into unique niche markets and to develop innovative products.  The new name, Burlington Technologies, better reflects the focus of the company in attracting new technologies and products which will more fully utilize existing facilities and the well trained and stable workforce.

Burlington Technologies is already engaged in creating two new business units.  The first is VitaFlex, LLC which will manufacture and market elastic nonwoven products using Dr. De-Sheng Tsai technology in the Pioneer Plant facility, with Burlington Technologies providing the administrative support.  Burlington Technologies has also recently entered into a working agreement with Dr. Dongqing Li of Waterloo University in Canada to assist in the development, manufacturing and marketing of a unique and highly advanced Lab-on-a-Chip technology utilizing hand-held diagnostic devices.  This new company is called Diagnostic Chips, LLC. These new endeavors represent new directions that Burlington Technologies will pursue.
